The Panel has consented to the withdrawal of the application by Pacific Energy Limited (PEA) dated 14 September 2004 alleging unacceptable circumstances in relation to the off-market takeover bid by Energy World International Limited (EWI) for all the ordinary shares in PEA.

The Panel has received a further application from Skywest Limited dated 8 October 2004 alleging unacceptable circumstances in relation to the off-market takeover bid by CaptiveVision Capital Limited for all the fully paid ordinary shares in Skywest.

In the Panel’s announcement on 1 October 2004 regarding its decision in relation to the affairs of Village Roadshow Limited, the Panel stated that it would seek advice from Village Roadshow Corporation Limited (VRC) and Canberra Theatres Limited (CTL) to ascertain whether or not CTL should be considered to be an associate of VRC.

The Panel has made interim orders with respect to the application concerning Emperor Mines Limited which was the subject of Panel media release TP 04/87, released on 29 September 2004.
