The Panel advises that it has affirmed a decision by ASIC not to grant an exemption to MatlinPatterson Global Opportunities Partners LP (MP Global) in relation to its offer (the Rights Offer) to acquire rights (Rights) in Anaconda Nickel Ltd. MP Global had applied to ASIC for relief to allow it to exercise all of the Rights it acquires under its Rights Offer. Currently MP Global is limited in the number of Rights it may exercise by the percentage of shares it becomes entitled to under its offer for Anaconda shares at the time it exercises the Rights it acquires under its Rights Offer.

The Panel advises that the President of the Panel has declined to make an interim order shortening the period until the determination time for the offer (the Rights Offer) by MatlinPatterson Global Opportunities Partners LP (MP Global) to acquire rights (Rights) in Anaconda.

The Panel advises that it has decided the application made by Glencore International AG seeking to review the decision made by the Panel in Anaconda 08 in relation to the affairs of Anaconda Nickel Limited.

The Panel advises that it has decided the remaining outstanding application (the Application) by Glencore International AG (Glencore) in relation to the affairs of Anaconda Nickel Limited (ANL).

The Panel advises that today it has received an application for review of the Anaconda 08 decision in relation to the affairs of Anaconda Nickel Limited (Anaconda).

The Panel advises that it has published its reasons for declining to commence proceedings in relation to an application by Equity-1 Resources NL (Resources), which the Panel received on 10 December 2002. The application was in relation to an announcement of a proposed takeover bid by Equity-1 Limited (Limited).

The Panel advises that on Friday evening 7 February it received a further application in relation to the affairs of Anaconda Nickel Limited (ANL).

The Panel advises that it has received two further applications in relation to the affairs of Anaconda Nickel Limited (ANL). One of the applications is from by MatlinPatterson Global Opportunities Partners LP (MP Global), whilst the other is from ANL itself. These two further applications are appeal applications, which are in addition to the five previously announced applications in relation to ANL.

The Panel advises that the Review Panel in the Anaconda 06 matter has today affirmed the interim order made by the Anaconda 02 - 05 Panel (Original Interim Order) , and broadened it somewhat.
