Introduction
- The Panel, Bruce Cowley, Katrina Efthim and Diana Nicholson (sitting President), made a declaration of unacceptable circumstances in relation to the affairs of Montu Group Pty Ltd. The application concerned a proposed selective buy‑back of Montu shares held by shareholders other than majority shareholder MG Invest, that could have (in the form originally announced) allowed MG Invest to compulsorily acquire all outstanding shares.

Remembering George Durbridge – The Panel’s first General Counsel
The President, Panel members and executive were saddened to hear that George Durbridge recently passed away.
George was the first General Counsel of the Panel from 2000 to 2007, having previously worked as General Counsel at ASIC (1990 to 2000) and as a senior lawyer at the National Companies and Securities Commission (from 1986).
