The Takeovers Panel (Panel) advises that it has received an application dated 22 August 2006 from Aztec Resources Limited (Aztec) in relation to a scrip takeover bid by Mt Gibson Iron Limited (Mt Gibson) for all of the shares in Aztec. Mt Gibson gave the bidder's statement in relation to the bid to Aztec on 11 August 2006.

Takeovers Panel advises that it has received an application dated 21 August 2006 from Australian Pipeline Limited (in its capacity as responsible entity of Australian Pipeline Trust) and Australian Pipeline Trust (together APT) under sections 656A and 657C of the Corporations Act in relation to the acquisitions of APT units by Alinta Limited on and from 16 August 2006.

The Takeovers Panel advises that today it declined to commence proceedings in response to an application received from Sedimentary Holdings Ltd (Sedimentary) dated 14 August 2006 (TP06/72) in relation to the scrip takeover bid by AuSelect (AuSelect) Ltd for all the ordinary shares in Sedimentary.

The Takeovers Panel advises that it has received an application dated 14 August 2006 from Sedimentary Holdings Ltd in relation to the scrip takeover bid by AuSelect Ltd for all the ordinary shares in Sedimentary, which was sent to Sedimentary shareholders on 1 August 2006 and declared free of defeating conditions on 11 August 2006.

The Takeovers Panel announces that yesterday the Panel in the Tower Software Engineering 01 proceeding commenced proceedings in the Federal Court of Australia against Pendant Software Pty Ltd.

The Panel advises that yesterday it received an application from Tower Software Engineering Pty Ltd (Tower) in relation to an off-market takeover offer for Tower by Pendant Software Pty Ltd (Pendant Software). Tower seeks a declaration of unacceptable circumstances and interim and final orders.

The Panel advises that it has today received an application from Nexus Energy Ltd in relation to an off-market takeover offer for Nexus by Anzon Australia Ltd, which closed on 6 June 2006. At that time Anzon secured acceptances for 17.69% of Nexus. Nexus seeks a declaration of unacceptable circumstances and final orders.

The Takeovers Panel (Panel) advises that it has today consented to withdrawal of the application (Application) dated 11 July 2006 (TP06/66) by GasNet Australia Investments Limited and GasNet Australia Limited (in its capacity as responsible entity of GasNet Australia Trust and GasNet Australia Investments Trust) (together GasNet).
