The Takeovers Panel welcomes the appointment of the following members of the mergers and acquisitions market as members of the Takeovers Panel:

| Andrew Knox: | Partner, Allens Arthur Robinson, Brisbane |
| Andrew Lumsden: | Partner, Corrs Chambers Westgarth, Sydney |
| Peter Scott: | Managing Director, Investment Banking Division, UBS Warburg, Melbourne |
The President, Simon McKeon welcomed the appointment of the new Panel members. He said that the new members are all very well qualified to contribute to the Panel's objective of providing timely, cost effective and commercial resolution of takeovers disputes. Mr. McKeon acknowledged the work of all of the Panel's members, including the time they spent working to ensure that the Panel's decisions continue to be consistent, as well as on a wide range of initiatives designed to provide guidance to the market.
The appointments were made by the Governor-General on Thursday 3 October for a period of three years until 7 March 2005, on the recommendation of the Parliamentary Secretary Assisting the Treasurer, Senator Campbell. The members are appointed on a part-time basis and take the Panel's membership to 49.
