The Panel has consented to a request by Origin Energy Limited to withdraw its application to the Panel dated 24 July 2008, in relation to its affairs (TP08/81).
The application related to alleged deficiencies in the bidder's statement of BG International (AUS) Investments 1 Pty Limited relating to Origin's coal seam gas assets. Origin informed the Panel that the issues the subject of its application have now been resolved.
The President is satisfied that it is not against the public interest to consent to Origin withdrawing its application.
The Panel encourages parties to resolve matters between themselves wherever possible, even after an application has been received, and is pleased that the parties have been able to do so on this occasion.
