The Takeovers Panel welcomed the recent announcement by the Minister for Superannuation and Corporate Law of the reappointment of fourteen members and the appointment of five new members to the Panel.
The President of the Panel, Mr. Simon McKeon, welcomed the new members to the Panel. He said that a crucial part of the Panel's success as an efficient peer review body in takeovers is the experience and professionalism of its members, and the support of the organisations with which they are involved.
"The High Court in its recent Alinta decision, as well as deciding that the exercise of the Panel's powers was constitutionally valid, recognised the considerable value of the Panel having the specialist knowledge of its members in resolving disputes." Mr. McKeon said.
Mr McKeon added: "My thanks go to those members of the Panel whose terms have finished. Each of them has made a substantial contribution to the Panel by making it a priority, in their busy schedules, to sit on matters and assist in the development of policy."
The Panel now has 52 members, all of whom are appointed on a part-time basis. Details of the appointments and reappointments are attached.

Ms. Diana Chang
Ms. Chang is a founding partner of law firm Chang Pistilli and Simmons where she specialises in commercial dispute resolution and related advice across a wide range of matters.
Ms. Paula Dwyer
Ms. Dwyer is a Director of Tabcorp Holdings Limited. She has many years experience in investment management and corporate advisory. She is currently also a Director of Suncorp Metway Limited, Babcock and Brown Japan Property Management Limited and Alpha Investment Management Pty Limited.
Ms. Vickki McFadden
Ms. McFadden is a Non Executive Director of Skilled Group Limited and the chair of the Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee of the company. Ms. McFadden is an experienced investment banker and sits on the board of a number of public companies. Ms. McFadden is also a member of the Executive Committee and Advisory Council of the Australian School of Business at UNSW.
Mr. Mike Roche
Mr. Roche is an experienced investment banker in Australia with a focus on public company mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Roche is currently Managing Director and Head of Mergers and Acquisitions at Deutsche Bank AG based in Sydney.
Mr. Andrew Sisson
Mr. Sisson is Managing Director of Balanced Equity Management Pty Limited which he established in 1988. He has over 32 years experience in funds management. Mr. Sisson sits on a number of advisory committees, including the ASX Listing Appeals Committee, ASX Option Adjustments Panel and the National Gallery of Victoria Investments Committee.
