The Takeovers Panel is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Bruce Dyer as Counsel to the Panel while the Panel's Counsel Mr George Durbridge is on long service leave.

The Panel is very pleased to have a lawyer of Bruce's standing and reputation, both in the takeovers area and in the area of administrative law.

Bruce has a very strong background in takeovers, corporate and administrative law, and has practised in corporate law in both Australia and the UK. Bruce comes to the Panel from Blake Dawson Waldron where he has been Special Counsel in the corporate group since 2001.

Bruce has extensive experience in takeovers practice and litigation and has published widely in the areas of takeovers and administrative law, including Judicial Review of Administrative Action (with Professor Mark Aronson and Matthew Groves).

Bruce will commence work at the Panel's Melbourne office on Monday 22 May.

The Panel is also pleased to advise the commencement of two new secondments to its Executive Office: Ms Jorja Mahoney from Arnold Bloch Leibler and Ms Melissa Anstey from Baker and McKenzie. The Panel is grateful for the continuing support of Australia's major law firms in providing high quality secondees to the Takeovers Panel.
