The Takeovers Panel has today published the reasons for its decision of 6 February 2003 in the proceedings (the Proceedings) brought on 20 January 2003 by BPC1 Pty Limited (Burns Philp) relating to Goodman Fielder Limited (Goodman Fielder).
The Proceedings concerned issues raised by Burns Philp relating to the target's statement produced by Goodman Fielder and certain advertisements placed by Goodman Fielder which were published on 18 January 2003.
As previously announced on 6 February 2003 in Panel media release TP 03/16, the Panel accepted undertakings from Goodman Fielder to issue a supplementary target's statement and to publish advertisements containing additional and corrective information. Accordingly, it did not make a declaration of unacceptable circumstances or make any order in the Proceedings
