The Takeovers Panel welcomes the appointments of Mr Mark Paganin, Partner, Clayton Utz and Mr Simon Withers, former Director, Kleinwort Benson, both located in Western Australia.
Mr Paganin joined Clayton Utz in 1986, and practices in corporate law, advising on companies and securities industry legislation. He also has experience in corporate finance.
Mr Simon Withers was a Principal with Anvil Partners for 8 years and previously a Director of Kleinwort Benson, dealing with corporate finance and mergers & acquisitions.
Both new members further enhance the representation from Western Australia.
The appointments were made by the Governor-General for a period of three years, until 7 March 2006 on the recommendation of the Parliamentary Secretary Assisting the Treasurer, Senator Campbell.
The members are appointed on a part-time basis and take the Panel's membership to 44.
