Queensland Gas Company Limited 02 - Panel Receives Application

The Takeovers Panel advises that it received an application yesterday from AGL Energy Limited in relation to the ASX announcement by Santos Limited dated 15 February 2007 of a proposal to make an offer for all the shares in Queensland Gas Company Limited (Santos Proposal).

In view of the subsequent announcement yesterday by the ACCC in relation to the Santos Proposal, the Panel will monitor developments before considering whether to proceed any further with the application.
